Wall Hair

Wall Hair was the most conceptual and experimental work I have done so far. I have written a lot of improvised, text-based works during this aka “lost” period in my artistic practice (those can be found in my blogggg). I was inspired by the tiles in my bathroom and how the fallen hair got stuck on them and formed certain symbols. i translated them through text recognition and combined them with the paragraphs I have written. In this work I truly embraced and the mundane of everyday activity and accepted my momentary helplessness. With them, I was able to encounter an aspect of artmaking I have never before. My mindset towards conceptual art and my thinking process were changed to better prepare me for more complex and powerful methods of visual expression.
